Let’s go way back...
Back in 1883, at a bar in Washington D.C., someone — depending on who you ask, either a bartender or a congressman — added lime to a glass of bourbon and soda. That drink eventually got a name: the Joe Rickey. Fast-forward a few years (and one major national ban on alcohol), and the bourbon quietly exited the chat. What was left? A fizzy little drink known as the Lime Rickey, which found its new home behind soda fountains and front porches everywhere.
And now? It’s getting a Hoplark glow-up.
Say hello to the Lime Larky — a no-proof remix that’s citrusy, bubbly, and basically built for long weekends and laid-back hangs.
🍈 How to Make the Lime Larky
It’s easy. Like, actually easy.
You’ll need:
🍋 Juice of 1 lime
🍯 1–2 tsp honey (or maple syrup if you’re feeling fun)
🧊 Crushed ice
🕊️ 1 can of The Margarita One
🌿 Optional garnish: mint, thyme, lime wedge — go wild
Stir the lime juice and honey together. Fill your glass with crushed ice. Pour in the mix. Top with The Margarita One. Garnish if you want to impress your friends. Or yourself. Both valid.
Pro tip: I highly recommend going with the thyme. It makes the drink herbaceously and decadently delicious — like, “how is this just lime and honey?” kind of delicious.
Bonus move: Make a big batch of the lime + honey ahead of time, then let people top off their own. Instant interactive hydration station.
